Bruce Springsteen and Zach Bryan have a bit of a bromance going. We can feel their mutual appreciation and admiration in their 2024 Rolling Stone interview.
That interview was filmed shortly after Springsteen joined Bryan on stage in Brooklyn for a song they’d soon record together (“Sandpaper”) and another that Bruce had nothing to do with.
“Revival” was the closing track of Bryan’s second album, and even if they hadn’t yet met at the time Zach wrote it, t’s a track that invites comparison to Bruce’s own music with themes of communal catharsis, working-class heroes and the power of a party.
Bruce went on to share the stage with Zach twice more since that first night at Barclays–both times in stadiums, a testament to Bryan’s remarkable career trajectory.
On both occasions, they performed “Atlantic City” with Bruce very much in the spotlight, but in the show-closing “Revival”… well, that song is always about the party.
