Cover Me, Pete Yorn: Your Own Worst Enemy

Ten points to Pete Yorn for choosing one of the best tracks (but least played) from Bruce’s Magic album: “Your Own Worst Enemy.

Another 10 points for his beautiful guitar work and deeply felt vocals.

Minus 5 for not understanding the song.

Still a great cover, though.

No reason to think he doesn’t understand it, the song has a personal and topical layer. Love his intro comment. Thx for posting a great cover of an underrated song indeed

I know it works on a both a political and personal level, but I think it’s clearly meant to be political through personal metaphor, a brilliant one at that. It’s funny joke that Yorn makes, but he’s deadpan enough to make me wonder whether he got the political part. I can extend the benefit of the doubt, though.
