1973: Bruce and the E Street Band headline two shows at The Main Point in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.
1977: Bruce and the E Street Band work on “The Promise” and “Don’t Look Back” during recording sessions at Atlantic Studios in New York City.
1978: Bruce and the band play one of their most legendary shows when the Darkness Tour takes over the Roxy Theater in West Hollywood. The show is a surprise, announced only the day prior, and tickets are hard to come by, as the venue only holds 500 people. Bruce opens with his debut of “Rave On” and later covers “Heartbreak Hotel” for the first time as well. More significantly, this show also sees the premiere of an early version of “Point Blank” in a very different form, along with the debut of “Independence Day.” The show is broadcast live on KMET-FM, and Bruce’s performance of “For You” will eventually serve as the B-side for his single for a live performance of “Fire,” released in 1987. Several songs from this show will appear years later on Live 1975-85. This show is available as part of Bruce’s official archive series.
1984: Born in the U.S.A. reaches the top of the U.S. album chart. It will spend a remarkable 139 weeks on the chart and spawn seven top 10 singles, one of only three albums to ever do that.
1985: Bruce and the E Street Band close out the European leg of the Born in the U.S.A. Tour with a show at Roundhay Park in Leeds, England. Steve Van Zandt makes his fourth consecutive encore appearance. Check out the news coverage below.
1988: The Tunnel of Love Tour arrives in Dublin for a show at RDS Arena.
2008: At Bruce’s first Magic Tour show in Oslo, “Cover Me” is played for only the second time in sixteen years.
2012: Bruce and the E Street Band headline at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark, and The Roots make a guest appearance on “The E Street Shuffle” and “Twist and Shout.” Captain Kirk reminisces about it in the clip below.

2013: Bruce opens Leipzig’s Wrecking Ball show with a tour premiere double-header: “Roulette” and “Lucky Town.” “You Never Can Tell” makes its tour premiere early in the show as well.
2021: Springsteen on Broadway continues its limited return engagement at the St. James Theater in New York City. In attendance tonight: Jake Clemons.
