1972: Bruce plays his fifth of six two-shows-a-night solo gigs at Max’s Kansas City this week.
1974: Bruce cancels a gig at the Cambridge Performance Center to make room for Born to Run recording sessions. Bruce does play a show that evening at the Stone Balloon in Newark, though–his one and only show ever in the state of Delaware.
1975: Bruce’s legendary stand at the Bottom Line in New York City begins here, on Night One of a five-night/ten-show residency, during which 25% of all tickets are distributed by Columbia Records to journalists and employees, establishing high stakes for Bruce and the E Street Band throughout the stand. The early show is mostly undocumented but known to feature Bruce’s first performance of “When You Walk in the Room” and only the second-ever performance of “Backstreets.” The late show features the first ever performance of “Night” and the last recorded “New York City Serenade” until the Reunion Tour almost a quarter-century later.
As for the journalists and critics in attendance, most are won over… but not all.
1982: Bruce rehearses with Cats on a Smooth Surface at Tower Recording Studios in Farmingdale, New Jersey, in preparation for their show at the Stone Pony two days later.
1992: Bruce and his new touring band bring World Tour 1992 to the Boston area for the first of two shows at the Centrum in Worcester.
2003: The Rising Tour’s stadium leg moves on to U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago, where Bruce opens with “Adam Raised a Cain” and plays a rare “Where the Bands Are."

2012: Bruce and the E Street Band rehearse for the final American leg of the Wrecking Ball Tour at Fenway Park in Boston.
