When Bruce announced his participation in the Amnesty International Human Rights Now! Tour in 1988, his re-arrangement and performance of this Bob Dylan classic became the title track of an EP released the following month.

Late on the High Hopes Tour, Bruce added a Clash cover to his set lists–one that temporary E Streeter Tom Morello was more than a little familiar with.

Edwin Starr’s “War” remains sadly relevant ever since its original smash release. In 1985, Bruce released a live music video of his cover version, and three years later he performed it with Starr himself. Watch both amazing performances inside.
